Ray Williamson Future Fund 2016 Award Winners

We would like to congratulate two recipients of the Ray Williamson Future Fund Award! SWF is pleased to honor the following individuals by supporting their participation at the 67th International Astronautical Congress in Guadalajara, Mexico:

Mr. Geiner Gustavo Fonseco Naranja, Universidad de Costa Rica, Costa Rica presented his paper on the First Costa Rican Nano Satellite Ground Base Station: Materializing Efforts and the paper Alternative Approaches for Remote Sensing: A Stratospheric Balloon Educational Experiment to Analyse Photosynthetic Activity of Plants, co-authored with Ms. Melissa Mirino, Universita Roma 3, and Ms. Rashmi Nayar, National Law School of India University (a 2015 Future Fund awardee).


Ms. Sadhana Jagannath is a final year architecture student at the University School of Design, Mysore University, Mysuru, India. She was invited as one of 12 students to participate in the IAF-SUAC International Student Workshop and presented her paper Human Settlements and Housing Issues: Using Space Technology to Tackle Digital Divide. This Ray Williamson Future Fund annually supports a small number of scholarship or professional development awards to support students or young professionals with demonstrated commitment to and aptitude for the advancement of the Secure World Foundation’s values, goals, and objectives. It is named for a former Executive Director of the Foundation whose life work has particularly advanced the cause of preparing new generations of leadership for the space sector.
