SWF Co-hosts a Webinar on Radio Frequency Interference

Focusing on the radio frequency spectrum as a critical component of space activities, Washington Office Director Victoria Samson offered a comprehensive assessment of RFI issues as of the close of 2015 given the increasing democratization of access to space. Other experts discussed the traditional players in the industry, and then explained how the "player" field has been expanding as new actors are introduced into the space community.  To watch the video of the webinar, click here.

SWF Participates in ISU SH-SSP16

As a co-sponsor of the 2016 International Space University’s (ISU) Southern Hemisphere Space Studies Program (SH-SSP) White Paper, SWF provided financial and substantive support to the team working on the research project. While spending time with the students in Australia, SWF Executive Director Michael Simpson gave a lecture on multilateral approaches to food and water management, which can be found here. Meanwhile, SWF Project Manager Laura Delgado López delivered an online lecture on policy considerations impacting geospatial data utilization. Her presentation can be found here.

Brian Weeden Delivers the Keynote Lecture on Policy Aspects of Space Debris and Sustainability

The 2nd Global Virtual Workshop focused on the technical aspect of asteroids and space debris. SWF Technical Advisor Brian Weeden's presentation examined the policy challenges to implement technical solutions for dealing with space debris. Mr. Weeden’s presentation is available here.

Victoria Samson spoke at "Risks in International Society and New Dimension of Security" in Tokyo, Japan

Ms. Samson was invited to speak on space security issues in a conference that examined the cross-cutting nature of space, cyber, and nuclear security. As international discussions progress, SWF is pleased to further topics related to deterrence and space stability and sustainability. Laura Delgado López Joins the International Committee Under AMS Board on Global Strategies

Ms. Delgado López has joined the International Committee on Weather, Water, and Climate Strategies (ICWWCS) of the American Meteorological Society (AMS). ICWWCS seeks to promote collaboration in the international weather and climate community, while raising awareness of the needs and interests of developing countries in these issues.

Christopher Johnson Admitted to the Washington D.C. Bar

At noon on February 8, 2016, Mr. Johnson, already a member of the Bar of the State of New York, will be administered the oath of admission to the District of Columbia Court of Appeals.
