Brian Weeden Delivers SWF Statement on Recent SWF Activities at the 53rd Session of the Scientific and Technical Subcommittee on UNCOPUOS

SWF Technical Advisor Brian Weeden presented a summary of SWF's recent activities today during the 53rd session of the Scientific and Technical Subcommittee (STSC) of the United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (UNCOPUOS). SWF is a permanent observer to UNCOPUOS, and has been active with the UNCOPUOS and its subcommittees since 2008.
The statement highlighted SWF's activities between June 2015 and February 2016 in support of the aims of STSC, including ensuring the long-term sustainability of outer space activities, fostering the development of sound space policy and law, and enhancing the use of space technology and international cooperation in support of human and environmental security on Earth. Mr. Weeden's statement was part of the Exchange of Views agenda item, in which States and permanent observers are encouraged to share the results of activities relevant to the work of the Subcommittee.
