Space Situational Awareness: Strategic Challenges for India

When: Thursday, June 14, 2018

to Friday, June 15, 2018

Where: JRD Tata Auditorium, National Institute of Advanced Studies Bengaluru, India

A growing number of countries and private sector entities are developing space situational awareness (SSA) capabilities to better understand the space domain. The increased interest in SSA is driven by broader trends in the space domain, including the globalization of technology, growth in commercial activities, and emerging strategic challenges.

SWF partnered with the National Institute for Advanced Studies (NIAS) and held a 2-day workshop in Bengaluru, India, June 14-15, 2018. The workshop brought together interdisciplinary experts from around the world to discuss trends in governmental and private sector SSA capabilities, program, and data sharing initiatives.
