IAC Young Professional Programme Event on Space Debris
When: Wednesday, September 25, 2013
to Wednesday, September 25, 2013
Where: Beijing, China
On Wednesday September 25th 2013, the IAF Young Professional Programme will invite the next generation of aerospace professionals to a reception about Space Debris as part of the 64th International Astronautical Congress in Beijing, China. This event will be sponsored by the Secure World Foundation and École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne. The expected 250 attendees will listen to experts discussing the threats of Space Debris and the challenges to mitigate these and bring their own opinions to the table by asking questions and providing comments.
The YPP receptions at the IAC are very popular amongst the young professionals. The mix between learning about interesting topics from experts, interacting with these and networking with all the participants attracts a majority of the delegates that are 35 years of age or less. Overall, the IAF Young Professional Programme organizes a series of events at the IAC each year, including three receptions, five technical sessions that are held virtually on the internet from the IAC, a plenary discussion together with the heads of industry and a Cross Cultural Presentation Workshop to enhance the presentation skills of select students and young professionals.
