SWF-UNIDIR Space Conference 2012: Laying the Groundwork for Progress is a collaboration of the Secure World Foundation and the United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research with support from The Simons Foundation and the governments of the People's Republic of China, The Russian Federation, and the United States of America that aims to provide information  and thinking on space security issues to Geneva's disarmament community.

This year the conference outlined the basics of space security and gave an outlook on the future of space security and the potential progress that could be made. Technical challenges and TCBMs were also discussed.
