Workshop on Community Remote Sensing: Citizen Science and Social Networks

On September 20, 2010, Secure World Foundation,  in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, hosted a small all-day workshop to discuss the potential for and possibilities of using community remote sensing (CRS) for disaster relief and mitigation in the United States and abroad. The open discussion featured remarks from key NGOs and other civil society actors already actively involved in using CRS at a grassroots level to assist in disaster management scenarios such as in post-earthquake Haiti.
